A very warm welcome back! Did you enjoy Christmas? We certainly did. Just a lovely family time together with lots of delicious food. Thank you for all your kind comments and welcome to new followers.
The weather has been getting colder each day since Christmas. Today is the coldest so far as we had a very heavy frost last night. And snow on the Mournes. This picture was taken at 9:30 this morning.
Beautiful, clear and crisp. What a joy to discover that our boiler has stopped working! The husband made a phone call and someone has promised to come out and look at it today. Meanwhile the little wood burner will be lit and we'll all have to snuggle round it to keep warm.
Hope you are keeping warm (unless you're in the southern hemishpere where I'm sure you are pleasantly warm enough). Have a very happy New Year!
Edited to add: the boiler has been fixed so we're toasty warm again.
Oh, how lovely! I envy you this white christmas

Pretty picture. It's cold here in Kent too! looking forward to Spring! I have noticed my bulbs are coming along so looking forward to the colours. Happy New Year. Kind regards Sally x
ReplyDeleteOh no, hope you've managed to get the boiler fixed. We had snow here on Boxing Day and then again on Saturday. I don't mind it over the Christmas period as there's nowhere we have to be so we can hunker down and keep warm. Happy New Year to you and yours, all the very best for 2015.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is very pretty but I can feel the chill from here :)
ReplyDeleteNo snow here (much to the children's disgust lol) , but a heavy frost. And a working boiler thankfully! Ours decided to pack up one morning in mid-December when we had our first heavy frost! Perfect timing! All good now though. Hope yours is fixed soon!
Such a nice view, it is so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening.
I would happily swap my garden for yours! I do hope you are able to keep warm tonight. x
ReplyDeleteHope you're keeping warm! It's very cold here; it's -20C right now and was -30C this morning!
ReplyDeleteIt's a few years since we had -20C here! That's really cold.
DeleteIt's not unusual for it to go down to -40 in the winter; that's -40 in both celcius and farenheit!
DeleteOh dear ! I hope your boiler works now !!! I wish you a very very happy New Year !!
ReplyDeleteI have just found your blog and am very glad I did - your projects are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe had snow here on Boxing Day, it is still hanging around with a lot of frost and ice as well.
Happy New Year!

Lovely to have you join in! Happy New Year.
DeleteHappy New Year, Gillian. It's been a pleasure following you this year even if all I can do is envy your crochet and knitting skills. Missing Northern Ireland this Christmas and looking forward to an Easter visit there. Lovely picture of your garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you Doris - as usual I'm behind with reading and commenting on other blogs. Maybe today! Happy New Year. In typical Northern Ireland fashion we're now having rain.
DeleteGlad you had a great Christmas and that you've got your heating back!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy New Year Gillian!

Hello Gillian,

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. Looking forward to 2015 with our blogger friends.
Cheers, Anita.
Happy New Year to you and your family! May it be a wonderful year!
ReplyDeleteOver here in Germany it was cold for some days but it looks like the temperatures are going up again...
Take care

Happy new year! The frost looks glorious; I'm glad the heating is working again. Even if a woodburner is lovely and full of flames, there is little to compare to a warm radiator and slippers resting thereon.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!! Wishing you lots of luck, health and creative hours in 2015 :-)
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Nata xxx
Happy New Year Gillian, hope you have a fabulous one.
ReplyDeleteHoping too your boiler is fixed, why does that happen on the coldest of days!, glad you had the wood burner.
All the best
Helen.
P.S your tree looked fabulous.
Gracias Anna.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI am just glad to know that your boiler is now working right!
I know it is cold out there, but it is serene beauty. Thank you for sharing the photo.
Please take care:)
Beautiful photo, the cold weather produces some stunning effects doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year

Happy New Year Gillian, I am afraid I am a bit behind in some blog posting and reading. Here in the southern hemisphere it has been UNpleasantly warm with days of 38-42 degrees C and bushfires. We have had some rain this evening and expecting cooler weather in 48 hours from now. The rainclouds haven't made the air any cooler - on the contrary they have trapped the warm air and it is very humid and sticky. Otherwise it is nice to see your snowy landscape - I feel a bit cooler just looking at it. Shame I can't funnel some heat your way from here! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe're just waiting for the storm to hit now!
