I saw my GP again – a different one this time – and she wants me to have physiotherapy on my frozen shoulder and also my hip and knee. Since typing and using a mouse make my shoulder sore, I think it would be best to stop blogging until things improve. I know I haven’t done much recently but I wanted you to know the reason. It’s not just because I’ve lost interest. All the best for now and thank you all so much for reading and commenting on all my posts.

  15. Dear Gillian,
Sorry to be late in reading your sad news - sometimes everyday life keeps us away from the blogosphere for a while - as much as I will miss your online presence, I totally understand your need to rest the body. I find that computer work will aggravate my joint pains much more than crochet ever did. If it were a choice between crochet or computer, the computer would definitely be the thing to go first!

Thank you for taking time to share your world on your blog and also for always making time to visit everyone's blogs. Your words of encouragement and kindness mean a lot to so many. Wishing you a steady recovery and all the best with whatever the future holds. Here's hoping to see you back here again one day. Sending healing hugs your way,
    Jodie xxx

  17. O you poor soul ! I know just how painful and inconvenient a frozen shoulder is to deal with. My right one was the first to kick up, I found that Omega 3-6-9 was an excellent supplement to take at the dosage of 6 per day for it took the pain away. Today several years later the left one plays up occasionally and I resort to the Omega's.

  18. Hi Gillian,
It's been almost a year that I've missed your blog posts. I am wondering how the year has treated you and whether you have found relief for your painful joints. Do you still read blogs even if you aren't writing or commenting? I was hoping to send an email but couldn't find an email address for you. My email address is jodiebodiecrochets@gmail.com but I understand if you are unable to type - no obligation. I am hoping that the loss of your blog posts has been balanced with another activity that is enhancing your quality of life much more. Take care and all the best for 2017. xx

    1. Hi Jodie. Happy New Year to you and your family. It's lovely to hear from you. I can hardly believe that it's almost a year since I stopped blogging. I don't even read blogs now as I would want to comment as well. I now, finally, have been told that I have fibromyalgia and have started treatment. My joints are less sore but not completely better. I still try to crochet but I've had to cut it down a lot. I keep thinking about writing my blog again but don't want to start and then find I have to stop. We'll see! I bought a bread maker and have been baking a lot. I couldn't do it if I had to knead the bread myself. I hope you are well. All the best, Gillian xx

  19. Hi Gillian,
Just checking in on your progress. It's sad that fibromyalgia has forced you to cut down on some of your activities. I hope your treatment has been fruitful. Fibro is such a mysterious and unpredictable thing.
Your feelings about blogging (not wanting to start, only to stop or aggravate your condition) are totally understandable. Often, I find computing a strain on the body. Many people underestimate how tricky screen time can be on a body that is struggling with illness or injury.
Are you still crocheting or expanding the baking? I am interested to know whether you have changed your hobbies and interests through the whole fibro diagnosis.
I do hope you have found some improvement in your condition and also found things that make you happy and give you a better quality of life.
Wishing you well, always, Jodie xx

    1. Hi Jodie, thanks for your message. It's lovely to hear from you. I hope you are keeping well. I'm having problems with internet so I'll get back to you again when it's fixed. Gillian xx

    2. Hi Jodie. We've got our internet connection back again at last. Just a thunderstorm and we lost the telephone line, telephone handsets, broadband hub and DVD player! Anyway, thanks again for your good wishes and for keeping in touch with me. The treatment is carrying on as before. Nothing makes me better but each bit of the treatment helps to a certain extent so I wouldn't stop any of them; medication, physiotherapy etc. Crochet is still one of my favourite hobbies so I try to do as much as I can without overdoing it. There's definitely not as much crochet now as there used to be. Baking has increased and I've started baking bread again. I use a bread maker to make the dough and then I cook it myself. And I like to make other types of bread that don't have to be kneaded. During the summer months my husband and I like to go camping as much as possible. That's usually a weekend every two or three weeks plus a couple of longer trips. There's really only one weekend left of this summer that we'll manage to get a weekend away with the tent. We find this so relaxing and do a lot of walking while we're away. Believe it or not, I don't even take my crocheting with me!
I'm still hoping to start blogging again. All the best for now. Love, Gillian xx

  20. Hi Gillian,
Wondering how you are going and whether you still visit the blogosphere. My blog went very quiet in 2018 as there were too many other demands but I am enjoying getting back into it this year. I hope your fibromyalgia is getting easier to control (or at least predict). I'm better acquainted with the things that will trigger a flare up of symptoms so things are relatively manageable at the moment. I hope you are still baking and finding fun in life whether that is with or without crochet or blogging. All the best, Jodie

    1. Hi Jodie. Thanks very much for contacting me again and thinking about me. I have thought about you since we were last in touch and wondered how you were doing. I’m managing the fibromyalgia and just getting on with life as best I can. I have an odd look at a few blogs but not much. I still aspire to starting up my blog again. We’re hoping to move house soon and all my craft things are packed away. It feels very strange not to be working on something. Just heard about a baby expected in September (a second grandchild for some friends) so I’ve started looking for a pattern for a baby blanket. Anyway, I am glad to hear you’re keeping reasonably well. All the best for now. Love, Gillian
